A few guidelines (also, see #776324)
  • Link to a source when posting something from outside SN. This can easily be achieved by choosing the link option after clicking post.
  • Provide context to your link. Ideally, this can be a quote of the link you cited as well as your personal thoughts on this quote or link. To provide context, click on the options dropdown menu and you'll see the context textbox. To quote something, use this markdown syntax (notice the >):

  • Engage with the people commenting on your post. Especially if you are asking a question and people make the effort to answer said question. We are here to learn something, not just for the sats, right? Of course, if you have nothing to say, it's also ok to keep quiet and read other people's thoughts.
I will likely adjust my tipping habits a bit to motivate adherence to these guidelines.
