US merchants waiting for a payment processor to add BTC as payment and not learning how to do it themselves, in a more self-custodial way, shows how behind is their mind, deep forgotten into fiat mindset.
Now its your turn, the user to start paying in BTC onto these merchants. Otherwise is all for nothing.

I do not see how it helps directly unless the seller is keeping the sats as treasury assets. But, if some of the employees start asking for part of their compensation in sats, only then it will be somewhat viable for the merchant.
But no doubt at the very least it can create some awareness!

I wonder if this is available in Canada. Convincing merchants to make the effort of turning it on, and going through the extra verification process, is a new challenge. Hopefully Square did a marketing campaign to give them a push. The 0% fee for the first 14 months is a nice incentive.
