I'm struggling with fulfilling my Maslow's hierarchy of needs Level 2 (Safety.) Specifically getting my financial needs met.
I'm living with parents, self-employed, working long hours every day, and after business expenses my personal income is $0. I've got credit card debt, a negative net worth, and it's been like this for 5+ years.
Every other day I'm ready to throw in the towel and find a "real job", but I can't give up. I'm all-in pursuing my dream of software development or dying trying.
Lately I'm struggling with working too much, and getting so stressed that my body shits out food without digesting it. I'm struggling with staying warm during my morning bicycle rides. Winter is just getting started.
Fuck Spokane winters. I ride every day if able, it's the only thing keeping me sane. Basically any day that's dry and warmer than 32 degrees F, I'm out cycling. I ride before the morning traffic rush starts, so this time of year that means I ride in complete darkness.
Once it freezes and snows, I'm going to lose my shit. It happens every winter, going from cycling 5 days a week to weeks without, I go to a bad place. I'm trying really hard to not dump the emotional details, but let's just say I have wanted to get myself closer to the equator for years.

  • Sunrise/sunset, look at it! 🌞
  • Indoor lighting should be incandescent, have you listened to Jack Kruse?
  • Ground yourself to the earth, when on the bike you may not get the full benefits of grounding
  • Maybe start walking with a weighted vest? train harder 😃
  • Dont allow thoughts of debt take up any space in your head, it doesn't really exist
  • BJW contract killer comedy
  • The full moons and the comet lately have been messing with people, you aren't alone!
  • Consume more clean liquids, can you get access to unpasteurized/raw milk? Or organic fruit/vegetable juices, which you can juice urself more affordably.
The really great thing is you have supportive parents to do these things with you. The rising tide raises all ships! ⛴️

consider reading the book by the masterless samurai: The Book of Five Rings, Myamoto Musashi
i first heard about this book from the man working on the ronin dojo package; i was quite impressed, whether he's a fed agent or not, it doesn't matter (CIA discovered bitcoin and its preceding technologies, whatever); i did get surprised how angry he got for being associated with samurai wallet;
anyway, after chatting with the developer, i magically found this book at an obscure little shop in the middle of San Francisco, on one of my trips (btw, i wud never live there, there are basically zombies roaming the streets!);
so this book is about waging war thru knowing urself - if u know urself, and the barrier to bettering urself (internal enemies), then u can defeat bad habits, as well as whole armies; he explains this in terms of sword-fighting; Great book, timeless!

Please feel free to message me privately here if you ever need anything. Giving up isn't an option, but also know that defaulting, if you havent already considered, could be a progressive tactical play. Rooting for you big time. And yea man, fuck Spokane winters.
