please save your zaps for posts and comments that more directly improve the site, than the waffling perpetrated by this poll's author. Comments welcome, obviously, and I have been improvising the first steps of an auto-withdraw policy where increasing rewards remain balanced within the site's channels, to discourage my inner scrooge.

Please read at least some of the comments in one previous ~meta discussion, about our distributed systems improvement problem ; voting already closed, read it anyway please

I don't want to budget a complete server just for staging any tiny tweak to SN. I'm perfectly capable of reviving some old machines that currently blissfully host wondrous ecosystems of the loveliest dust bunnies, although might be in optical terms of condition worse even than what most sane, well-adjusted members of adult society would consider good roofing material for improvised balconies in the higher storeys of an electronics midden... however, as you might have figured out if you're still reading anything I've written, I'm not exactly the paragon of society, despite paying the occasional sales tax on thermal paste or whatever people go shopping online for these days.

I absolutely despise virtualization. Fiat currencies are bad enough without ablating reality any further afk.
dev goals
The posts are endpoints stood up by the good folks named in the website's footer; I have much trouble slowing down my keyboard jockeying enough to consciously think about the individual people, usually getting reminded of some joke along the lines of "'ek'? that's the noise I make when a drop of water goes the wrong way down".
I don't want anything I do to knock down the goalposts, although obviously I might have strong opinions about whatever flies past unmolested on its way to nowhere, fast.
I'm mainly bothered by the unavoidable kvetch that anything I wish to do could be done within about five minutes of monkeypatching by the sort of person who trusts browser extensions because, uhm, I wrote all those patches myself! and...
Let's not encourage monkeypatchen, even if some of us might hold great regard for high apes
