"Raghib "Rocket" Ismail signed a four-year, $26.2 million contract with the CFL's Toronto Argonauts in 1991, which included $18.2 million in guaranteed money. At the time, it was a record-breaking deal making him the highest-paid football player in North America and surpassing the NFL's top salaries. The contract was a major event, as Ismail was the presumptive No. 1 NFL draft pick."
