Today is the US day of thanks. We've done these threads most years.
It's a pity this is a yearly ritual rather than a weekly one. Meditating on what we're thankful for tends to pull us out of negative spins. So I'd like to challenge you all to come up with something you're thankful for, small or large.

I'm thankful that I found SN. My experience of Bitcoin culture is so different because of this community. And that difference makes all the difference. I wouldn't have continued trying to learn about how Bitcoin works if it wasn't for the stackers who are so generous with their knowledge.

I'm thankful for the chances that life gave me - or that I gave myself.

The scale of human cooperation, residential apartment towers, the feeling of being exhausted and empty then finding comfort and relaxing, people free of presumptions, my ignorance ensuring I always have something to do, the random texture of states our universe and lives move though, butter with just about any source of carbohydrate, the confusing yet warming way that I want to leap out of my body and into another's when I make eye contact with them, they way something simple enough and done well enough can make its flaws invisible, wet healthy soil, plants, leaves, trees, thunderstorms, the sponginess of young people, the scarred saturation of getting older, the way gratitude shines and scatters through the work of good humans, public benches in the perfect spot, the cool empathetic impartiality I've seen from some of the folks directly involved in bitcoin core, stackers hunting for the there there with us, a kind peaceful person's face, laughter, all the gifts I have that I'll never know I've taken for granted, good smells when I'm walking around downtown and the bad smells for giving me something to compare them to, all the human beings I'll never meet whose mere existence gives me a vague sense of hope and pride, people that talk so much I only have to listen, and knowing I might never be able to finish this list.

My Son, he's turning into a well rounded man and my relationship with him is 1M% better than what I had with my dad. So I'm also thankful to myself for breaking the generational trauma. Boomers bless em 🤣🤣

Freedom of Speech and the contest of ideas. It may be the last strategic advantage we still have versus China...lets use it while we still can. Democracy, such as it is- not that there's much of it left.
Good health, good weather. Never guaranteed but today have both.
The wild Turkeys that walk across our land here and which I hope to harvest some of this autumn if I can catch them! There are maybe 100 or more. Sometimes they move in groups of up to 30. They have just had chicks and so they would be best to harvest in about 6 months just before winter here in the southern hemisphere.

Oh, there are many things I'm thankful for. I will mention a few:
Thankful for being alive, for having a functioning body, mental clarity, emotional resilience, feeling peace and joy in small moments...
