if you consider inflation, it has moved negatively. It would not be easy to retrieve the money from the funds it has been invested in, especially if managed by the government instead of a private agency. It will much depend on which country your friend has the pension locked in with.

Weird. An account just for the pension? I’m not really getting it. In what country did that happen?


A friend recently looked up his pension and was told that the money in the account hasn't moved for many years. *We are going to confiscate it.* 

I can't imagine when more people wake up to this, the money they think they have in the banks...
