I think they would have been successful in keeping it under wraps if Trump hadn't been reelected. I also am in the camp that I think they have had a pretty good idea on who exactly had done it for a while now. Maybe they didnt think they had the evidence needed but this new Admin decided to push the arrest anyways but unless they announce some sort of DNA break through that led to this I think they have long known.

A complete Trump home run scenario would be if they already have the guy cooperating. My sense is this would not have been green lighted if it wasn't favorable to Trump.

Agreed! I can see Trump right now looking to do something to get the heat off his back some. The splits in the House right now are not good at all for him and he needs a couple of nice big PR wins.
