Oof, global feed is lost to the asians!

There should be a client config to show only posts in one or two languages. If hard to implement it could also filter by character set.

Oh you didn't learned chinese in the last 2 days? At least have the curiosity to translate those shit load of messages. Some are funny.

This was my thought as well. An ability to filter by language in some way, as even if not spam, it’s. Or something I care about seeing if I can’t understand it.

Good idea! Most clients have their code on Github so if you want to see this feature, you can open an "issue" in the Github project

My "algorithm": a coffee in the morning and in 5 min you blocked 100 chinese spammers. I mostly ignore the global feed. But is fun to see all those chinese.
reply
lol. Do they always post from the same accounts? I've blocked a few porn bots and some Chinese spam bots. I mostly ignore global too but I like to greet new people joining nostr sometimes and global is the only way to find them..
reply
Why do you greet unknown bots? You will end spammed like hell. Is better building a natural network of known people... Most of people don't have morality today.
reply
It's usually pretty easy to differenciate the bots and actual people. Most accounts I agree seem to be real people at least. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
