There can and maybe should be an alternative ability to declare trust, but that could also be an attestation of sorts. Forcing a new concept on users to decide trust is complex and unless there is a specific context and purpose of this separate WOT, it's mostly worthless. As we've discussed, you might trust someone to watch your cat, but you wouldn't give them a loan.

The context of WOT on Nostr, at least from my point of view on top of my head right now, is primarily for consumption of events. If I follow two medical doctors on Nostr, I do it because I trust their expertise and I want to see their content. WOT on Nostr for me is about having access to an extend sphere of influence extended out from my own decisions for direct following list. I'd like to have a feed that introduces events from non-following but is connected to my immediate WOT.
