First off, thanks for sharing. I've been lazy on reading the list since the turn of last month, ugh.
the help of an LLM, but it certainly feels like
Lazy Fair is defo bot-assisted at the least. I've had many proposals like this on both my repos and my security mailing lists. You cannot ignore them though: the bot can get it right (or get something right) (or in this case, highlight a real problem by being wrong)
With regard to HTLCs/Lightning, HTLCs rely on a proof-of-publication to be secure
Peter is right. I've always been of the opinion that not having the full view isn't for watchtowers of any kind. Doesn't matter which tech you use: bloom, compact filters, utreexo, or filters (any policy tbh!) You cannot securely use it if you use a protocol that needs liveness like LN, or even if you are monitoring something like a 2/3 multisig. Remember this forever.
As someone that spent a month in 2015 to implement the "confidence" metric for a production system (as a private metric to measure propagation - not how shapeshift used it) I have literally seen a decade ago how shit can happen against the odds.
Any rollup is useful for replacing IBD as initialization for a virgin wallet (though you should probably still do IBD after, just as a non-blocking process, like in assumeutxo, but without the assume.) Utreexo is interesting for not-much-at-stake, imho.
