Now dont get me wrong, there are always exceptions but most of the post that go through and get upvotes are actual garbage. Its either some moonboy post/pictures or a generic meme and thats okey but imo it could be way more informative just like stacker.news is.
I m not trying to hate the sub/community, when ever their is a genuine question they'll get some good responds back. I guess, I'm just a little dissapointed aswell because of the fact that I tried twice posting something, the first one was a post of ChatGPT responds about BTC being a reserve currency and it got removed for no reason and the second was my "orange pill cheat sheet" post which I published on here aswell but it literally got zero engagement on reddit (which I find weird because it did so on any other plattform) as if I or the post got shadowbanned. Those two were my only engagements ever with the sub.
  • I did hear some similar storys about r/Bitcoin-moderators being weird but yea...
I just had to get it off my chest. Nevertheless hope you having a good day! :)
Back in the day I hear it was pretty good. When I was using it about two years ago it was practically useless. Then I discovered Stacker News. I haven't looked back. There's no comparison.

totally agree.

Reddit is a centralized main stream propaganda cesspool

Don't forget the adjectives: woke, leftist, trendy, and consumerism.

It's full of hot takes from people who have no idea what they are talking about.

а я еще не заходил туда... значит и не стану там быть))) спасибо...

Too much noise on r/bitcoin. It's hard to sort out the real signal. But from time to time you can find some excellent stuff.

I hated r/bitcoin actually subbed to r/cryptocurrency just to see some different views but man they are painfully stupid there too. Even after ftx people there are defending coinbase against the sec while coinbase makes 30% off their staking rewards. Just a bunch of greedy children there. Now its SN and nostr for me when it comes to crypto

I was banned for calling out the mod's bullshit in the daily thread. Shortly after the FTX blowup there were a lot of threads discussing self custody and one of the mods had pinned their comments to the top and locked the threads. I thought this was an abuse of power and said as much, and was banned for "instigating drama". Reddit mods are the worst.

Reddit is absolute garbage.
reply
Because there are only leftist left there and they are sheep, so they probably listened to Elizabeth Warren and now they hate bitcoin lol
reply
r/bitcoin is cult.
90% of the user base is comprised of gamblers comforting themselves into gambling by saying words they barely grasp.
reply
They must say “systemic” or “racism” after every other word lol

Get on Nostr

reddit was decent signal in 2015ish, hasnt been in quite a while.
cobra bitcoin is a shady dude imo. when he took over as mod shit went downhill

Bitcoiners live on nostr now. You’re welcome.

r/buttcoin has some pretty good content even if its anti-bitcoin,

I find Reddit useful for following specific individuals (devs, OGs) as the discussions can be more technical and nuanced than those you find on Twitter. Outside of that though it's pretty ass and I look forward to the day when everyone migrates to SN and Nostr.
reply
Yes and it's hard to follow someone on Reddit. Maybe the users profile has an rss feed?

прикинь поставить бота печатать сообщения там? а тут? тут для этого понадобится крепкая валюта биткоин... и бот сможет написать ровно столько сообщений сколько есть у его хозяина. так что все норм)))

When posting comes for free, garbage and good content get the same chances.

r/Bitcoin has many problems, way too much noise. Stacker.News is more signal.
reply
yea true, i mean you get a good overall view about the space.
