Hello stackers!

About a month ago I launched a first iteration of ArtiSats, and we had a nice testing session with some great feedback. If you need a refresher you can refer to this thread here on sn. I have been working on the site since then and I am happy to announce that ArtiSats is back for a new round of testing and some easy sats.

What is ArtiSats?

ArtiSats is a custodial, level 3, lightning network powered web platform where you can buy and sell art, photos, sketches, AI generated images and soon more with Bitcoin. There are three types of asks: private, public and bump public. Private asks are only visible to you, public asks can be bumped by other users and are visible to the entire community upon successful settlement, and bump public asks are similar to public asks but only users who have bumped the ask with at least 10% of the current sum can see the final image upon successful settlement.

Major changes:

UI

  • major UI overhaul
    • the site now looks better
    • the site is now responsive
    • the site is now mobile friendly

Aks

  • the entire auction system (wtf was I thinking?) was scrapped and replaced with a simpler system where asks are now eternal
    • countdowns confused users
    • countdowns brought performance issues
    • the auction system brought some nasty complexity to the codebase

Spaces (removed tags)

  • users can now create "spaces" for a symbolic fee of 1000 sat
    • spaces are like subreddits
    • spaces can be used to group asks and offers
    • later on space creators will be able to moderate their spaces
    • creators can earn some sats for asks settled in their spaces (3%)

Nostr integration

  • user can now provide a nostr public key and receive messages from artisats on nostr
    • users will get notified when their offers are accepted
    • users will get notified when their asks receive offers
    • users will get notified when their asks got bumped by other users
    • NIP-05 for the site

Image editor

  • a full-featured image editor is now available
    • users can now obfuscate their images exactly the way they want
    • quick edits, like blur and checker, are also available for lazy users and mobile users

Other changes

  • asks can be cancelled
  • asks can be edited
  • a provisional logo was added
  • lots of bugs were fixed

More free shit

I have created a few aks that you can take on to test the site. If you take on one of these asks you will receive a certain amount of sats. The amount of sats you receive depends on the ask. The amount of satoshis you receive is not a lot, but it's free money. If you're interested in testing the site and/or providing feedback please read on. Also, if you have any idea for an ask that you would like to see on the site please let me know (or just post it yourself).
Here are some highlights:
  • This ask requires you to create a space that you think might be interesting for the community. Bounty: 2000 sats (actually its 1000 sats because creating a space costs 1000 sats).
  • This ask requires you to make an account and post an offer with a screenshot of your "my stats" page. Bounty: 300 sats.
  • This ask requires you to make an account, provide a nostr public key and post an offer with a screenshot of the message you receive from ArtiSats. Bounty: 350 sats.
  • This ask requires you to provide meaningful feedback on the site. Bounty: 1000 sats.
  • This ask requires you to sketch a logo for ArtiSats. Bounty: 40000 sats.
  • This ask requires you to post a photo of the view from your window. Bounty: 5000 sats.

Missing sats

looks like some users from the last round we're not able to withdraw and are missing some sats. @FROSTBIT, @jeff, @Wumbo or any other user who remember their name on ArtiSats may paste invoices here and I will reimburse them their funds on a trust basis. Please withdraw your funds as soon as possible after testing.

Happy testing!

Nah, keep the sats my man. Keep up the hard work.
I was joking about the rug-pull risk. Wish I hadn't thrown that shade.
I trust you friend.
Here, have some more...tip incoming to this post.
We all need to embrace the #reckless phase required for building fast.

In response to withdrawing, the lnurl string didn't work for me in thunderhub.
I am not supper familiar lnurl withdraws (I have only used them from Auth). So Maybe I am doing something wrong.
When I try to withdraw the view sats I sent over, thunderhub just has the waiting graphic for minutes and never finishes.
What software did you use to process lnurl withdraws? Is there a way for the user to bump up the allow Max Fee for the lightning transactions? Maybe it is failing because lake of route/low fee.
reply
I just noticed when the user clicks on the ln-url string nothing is written to the clipboard. Either that is the issue or its some weird node/channel thing. We'll see soon if the issue still persists.
reply
Still unable to withdraw. Just sits there and spins. @zeRealSchlausKwab what wallet have you successfully withdraw to?
reply
Now When I click withdraw it is showing a blank pop up window with no text.
reply
Way too complicated
Is there a minimum cost to post an offer.
The submit button continues to be grayed out, even after uploading image and writing description?
reply
Offering does not cost anything. Validation checks for at least one image + obfuscated image.
reply
I was not clicking "save" after obfuscated. I was just clicking "done" thinking that was all that was needed. Dumb User Error, on my side.
reply
Actually it is dumb UI. There shouldn't be a "done" button but a "cancel" button if anything since the button actually cancels. Noted.
reply
"Tester" should now be able to withdraw 1000 * 0.91 sats
and is also the top earner on the site:

nostr looks good:

Can't withdraw.. pretty sure e this was a rug pull scam..
reply
@zeRealSchlausKwab , I have not been able to withdraw sats (same as last testing round).
Can you confirm the withdraw should be working?
If it is working what wallet have you succesuflly withdraw to?
reply
Is this a modern take on the good old DNMs?
reply
What are DNMs?
