Hello stackers!

I'm launching a new site called ArtiSats.com. It's a site where you can post offers for images and other creative work. You can also post asks for images and other creative work. The site is still in beta, and I'm looking for feedback. I'm also looking for people to test the site. If you're interested in testing the site and/or providing feedback please read on. Here is the blog section of the site where you can find further info, like a FAQ and a more in depth explanation: https://artisats.com/ask/blog

Free shit

I have created a few aks that you can take on to test the site. If you take on one of these asks you will receive a certain amount of sats. The amount of sats you receive depends on the ask. The amount of satoshis you receive is not a lot, but it's free money. If you're interested in testing the site and/or providing feedback please read on. Also, if you have any idea for an ask that you would like to see on the site please let me know (or just post it yourself).
Here are some highlights:
  • This ask requires you to make an account and post an offer with a screenshot of your "my stats" page. Bounty: 300 sats.
  • This ask requires you to provide meaningful feedback on the site. Bounty: 1000 sats.
  • This ask requires you to sketch a logo for ArtiSats. Bounty: 40000 sats.
  • This ask requires you to post a photo of the view from your window. Bounty: 5000 sats.
And there is more, you can simply visit ArtiSats.com and see if you can find something that interests you. If you do find something that interests you please take it on and provide feedback. If you have any questions or comments please let me know. You can reach me in the blog section of ArtiSats or here in this thread.
In particular, I interested if you are able to find yourself around the site with little explanation and spoon-feeding.
This was fun! I responded to 3 (err 4 after an accident/bug) of the asks. Great work so far! Needs some styling, and UX improvements, but this is definitely a fun little engine/market-place.
Also, tried to post comments to the listings. The UX for those comments/questions was ultra buggy. The first time you "POST", there is no user feedback to indicate that it was posted properly. But the second time you "POST", it posts one of two. When you refresh the page, both (different timestamps) show up.
šŸ’” You could probably censor/reveal all kinds of content. Eg. probably super easy to add text, or code, or a URL, or even a password. Each of these would have slightly different behaviours. Example listing: Post a code snippet to format time deltas a bit nicer on ArtiSats.com :)

500 big ones up for grabs...to the person who can "right-click and save-as".
reply
Are you able to accept an offer early or do you have to wait till the ask timer runs out?
reply
You can set a favourite offer before the ask either expires or enters the "pending acceptance" stage. Would you prefer an "early settlement" feature where the asker can just accept an offer and settle the ask resulting in an early reveal of the image and an early payout for the offerer?
reply
I think I can accept early, but it's a little unclear UX wise. It just shows a toggle, and I don't know what happens when I click it.
Kind of want to test what happens if I don't accept one, because I did have to post full collateral (ie, 500 sats are 'locked' (by the site)). Does the site just pick the one that was earliest to post? Do they send me the image?
Seems like it would be an unfair hack, to just send the sats to the first one who posted.
Maybe I'll pick a winner for this one, and then post a second ask with a warning that I intend to let it expire.
There have been two replies so far, but, awkwardly, I can see the images that were posted. No blur. No checkers. Wondering if it's just a thumbnail, or did I "buy" all the results, but only have to pay one person? Or do I only get a high-res version of the one I pick?
So many questions lol...UX UX UX.

Luckily for Jeff his two offerers have both chosen to upload images without obfuscation, so now he has no incentive to choose a favourite that would lead to a payout on ask settlement. He can just download the original files and re-steal them.
my stolen NFT is obfuscated by a blur so neither Jeff nor outside users can see the original image.

When you chose a favourite nothing happens before the time on the ask runs out. When the time runs out the favourited offerer would be rewarded with the sum of the bumps.
Would you prefer some form of early settlement?
reply
I think the middle one, blurred it with a little blur. I didn't notice that he did. And the site is confusing if users do this. The offerer should have the choice to fully delete their submission, or edit it, until the deadline, unless the asker marks it "favorited".
Everything about "fovouriting" is unclear on the UI. Here is what is going through my head:
I'm scared to hit a toggle, cause I don't know the effect. Will my sats be gone, and contest ends? Or will it keep it keep going, and I can undo it?
reply
however, i'll have to think the editing ang deleting stuff through....
reply
all valid.
this should be better
reply
Same here, I can see both offers images
reply
This is fine. These images were not obfuscated.
reply
There is probably four states:
  • Not-logged in listing viewer
  • Logged in listing viewer, no engagement
  • Asker's view
  • Offerer's view
But, I could easily see bugs exposing stuff. lol.
reply
@FR0STBIT and @jeff did you get Sats from @zeRealSchlausKwab ?
I don't see Sats in my Sats page even after Ask is settled and my offer was marked as favorite.
reply
No, lol. Unclear to me what happened to my 500 sats I paid for a stolen ape. Were you the winner of that?
reply
I am now showing Sats in My Sats Page.
However the withdraw option does not let you enter an invoice. Instead it appears to generate an invoice for deposit.
@zeRealSchlausKwab are withdraws coded and working?
reply
Does it count as a rug pull, if they never gave a date for when withdrawals would be set up? lol.
reply
I was not the winner of your ask.
But I did "Win" some ask created by @zeRealSchlausKwab and didn't see the reward.
reply
Thanks for the detailed feedback.
The UX for those comments/questions was ultra buggy.
Yeah, i've built these features without using them myself before lol. The commenting on the asks need to be more responsive. The needs to be a loading indicator and the form needs to be reset after posting. Also the form should be visible only after user action.
Eg. probably super easy to add text, or code, or a URL, or even a password. Each of these would have slightly different behaviours.
Yes, also maybe video and audio files.
reply
@zeRealSchlausKwab, if an Ask expires (no Offers where posted) should the Asker get his/her bump back or is this donated/fee for the website?
reply
the only fees are the 9% that are charged the bumps of all successfully settled asks.
reply
When a user bumps an ask the amount of sats are getting locked until the ask is successfully settled (payout for the offer) or the ask is expired (the sats are unlocked and the asker can withdraw them).
reply
Take a look at ask: 1673100612255 it is expired but the bump sat are stilled locked.
Another possible issue ask: 1673125280885 is settled but I don't see the Sats in balance or on My Sats Tab.

Comments:
  1. Hover over ToolTips would help user "find yourself around". On the rocket ship icon for example.
  2. I find myself trying to click on the ask amount "button" like thing on a ask page. Example: https://artisats.com/ask/single/generate-an-original-image-with-bitcoin-in-it-with-the-ai-tool-of-your-choice-1673096899041
The green button shape object that has text of 1000 Sats.
I see sometimes it is green and on other ask it is blue. Do the different colors imply something different about the ask?
  3. The invoice for deposit had the original profile name and not the new profile name. Could be concerning to new users who are depositing Sats.
  4. Should there be 2 copies of the image after uploading in an offer?
  5. The "UPLOAD FILE browse No File selected" button: A. Seems to be disabled until you select the blur setting. Is there a reason for this, if not may be better to let user select file, then select blur settings, then allow upload. B. This might be personal preference but is having the file upload and the submit button as one object better than separate and side by side.
reply
  1. More tooltips, yes
  2. This should be a list of all the "bumps" an ask has collected. With each value represented my its width. I agree it looks weird when its only one.
  3. Bug, will fix
  4. Yes, before completion the author of the offer is supposed to see both of his images.
  5. Agree. The offer file handling needs polishing.

Issues with safari browser for iPhone. The bump with and add offer fields are too far to the right on a blank background.
reply
Safari is an absolute disaster on mobile and on desktop. I'll have no idea whats happening.
reply
This is awesome. We are building!
I noticed the login flow looks a bit wonky. There's a big white square over the the lnurl string. I suppose that's supposed to be the qr code.
reply

No. God, no. Please no.
Do you have a screenshot? What browser?
Can a user change the ask amount after creaking an ask?
reply
No, you can only post additional bumps and increase the total bounty.
Wouldn't it be weird if users could edit their asks? Seems like a possible abuse vector.
reply
Yah, I also made an ask, and then wanted the ability to edit...nope!
Should be able to edit for 10 mins after posting or something.
reply
Should be able to edit for 10 mins after posting or something.
Yeah, for a limited time maybe the author should be able to edit at least the title and textual content...
reply
this was quite productive!
my takeaways:
  • image uploading and file handling in general needs an overhaul, in terms of UX and code
  • there seems to be a general appetite for editing & deleting things (at least for a certain time period after creation)
    • editing asks
    • editing and deleting offers
    • removing tags from aks
  • safari browser experience is a total train wreck, desktop site is slow and buggy, mobile site is unusable
  • users seem to confused about the way the site works, and what they can do with it
  • login (with alby/webln) seems to be a bit of a pain point
  • users want early settlement of asks before they run out
  • countdowns are too prominent, and they need to be less pronounced
what I already fixed/improved:
  • there is now an indicator if an ask already has a favourited offer
  • I've added a "not favourited yed" quick filter to the sidebar
  • I've added a bunch of tooltips, explaining all the dates, buttons and icons to the site
  • comments are much nicer now, you actually know that you successfully posted one
  • the invoices now have proper descriptions with the actual usernames
  • a bunch of minor bugs
if you want to test any further, I have added another batch of easy asks:
...I've set the times of those much shorter so that you can get a payout sooner.
And don't forget this , ArtiSats needs a logo!

@zeRealSchlausKwab I anaswered all the tasks. Shouldn't we get some sats for that?
@zeRealSchlausKwab I have answered to all those 4 asks but I still didn't get any sats. How exactly that works? If we answer to those asks, weren't we supposed to get the mentioned sats?
I couldn't accomplish any of the tasks. Are they yet available?
