I like the Ferengi! Quark reminds me of close friend (clever, cynical, devious) that I once had. I can see how someone might be concerned about what inspired the Ferengi, but I’m not convinced they are inspired by more than a trait.

I got to Darmok! I was programming while watching the fifth season so I missed much of the awesomeness, but I caught the end and plan to return to it.

Awaw! Deep space nine starts slow and then goes 

 hard. It ends with massive geo political intrigue, heavy religious/spiritual challenges, and lots of other wild philosophical stuff. I’m no tv fan, but I’d recommend anyone hang in for the final seasons of DS9. It’s also kind of the anti-startrek Star Trek show for obvious and not-so-obvious reasons alike.

Also, not sure by this post if you enjoy the character Quark or not, but his family (admittedly campy) becomes a really cool part of the show. My ethnically Jewish wife is still convinced the Ferengi are supposed to be racist depictions of “space Jews,” and if I remember right, even she really digs all of Quark’s family members’ character arks.

Oh hey, so did you get to/dig “Darmuk?”
