I am working on setting up my own private infrastructure including a lightning node using LND.
If I am just using this for myself, is it ok if the Lightning node is offline for hours or days at a time? Is there any tutorials that focus exclusively on this use case? I am just installing all this stuff on one of my Linux laptops.
In order to continue to use Blue Wallet, do I have to set up my own Lndhub instance, or can I drop something else in place, or can Blue Wallet connect to LND directly?
Also, what should I be aware of in terms of backing up that way if something happens to my laptop I can restore my Lightning Node on a new machine?

If you are just running it for yourself (private node) and not using it for routing payments (routing node), then it's okay, yes. It only needs to be online when you want to receive payments.

I think it only works with LndHUB but I am not sure.

There should be docs. I use CLN and there was mentioned which files need to be kept private and secure. It also has a config option to continuously backup the sqlite database at a different location.

What does this mean? Can some1 explain to me like i'm 5? I currently have 200k in my LN BlueWallet app, what do i have to do to not lose them?

“The service will be shutdown on the 30th of April.
If you have sats there, please move them to another service/wallet of your choice.”

What another service/wallet? To where i move them? WTF is going on
reply
That's for you to decide. I had some sats there and this morning I have moved them to Alby (also custodial). Could move them to Wallet of Satoshi, for instance.
However, I believe it is better to run one's own Lightning node or at least use a non-custodial mobile wallet, such as Phoenix or Breeze. That way, you will have full control over your own funds. I am going to look into that now.
As to what is going on, I don't know their reasons for shutting down the service. From the dry tone of their statement, I imagine that they might be scared of government regulation, or maybe they got a warning, or maybe their lawyers recommended them to shut it down before they get in trouble. But this is just a wild guess; I don't know at all.

You're using a custodial service that is shutting down. Withdraw to another lightning wallet whether that's custodial or not.
Not your keys not your coins.
