Walmart currently has a much higher P/E ratio than Amazon, even though Amazon's revenue has grown (and surpassed) Walmart's decline much more.
A bit apples and oranges given that Walmart has more stable consumer infrastructure in its physical stores, including rural, that double as distribution centers
Amazon has to build out distribution just to match Walmart's physical stores
Also Amazon revenues include AWS, so the growth is priced as volatile / higher risk...
That overral growth hides the fact that Walmart is eating Amazon's share
That shows Amazon is the past and Walmart is the future, some say it may be worth more with AWS split-out into a separate company but I think it may be even uglier.
That said I am perplexed as to how Walmart keeps ripping in the middle of a CEO succession
