I am South Slavic, most people assume or even insist I am "white" based on my skin color. However, Anglo-Saxon / Nordic / Slavic (and others) are all different ethnicities- yet share a similar skin color. I do not personally appreciate the racial generalization.
Mostly, I would rather not judge on race at all- as I believe MLK instructed, or be proud of sharing particulars such as which old villages my grandparents come from. Do you feel that way when people refer to you as Black? Or is the generalization ok? Even a positive thing possibly? Would appreciate your thoughts.

I'm not black or African. I posted the article because I am very interested in how bitcoin can help the unbanked, and because I was shocked that a mainstream network like CNBC posted a positive article about bitcoin.

Open your mind. It is not about skin color, even though words of color are still used.
We American "Blacks" or "African-Americans' refer to our sub-culture of U.S. born descendants of the enslaved. It all gets twisted by the majority who usurp our adaptations of the language and make it what they want. It just so happens that our skin color ranges shades of brown that the colonizers called Negro or Black.
