- Question number needs to be bolded, as per national exam standards.
- Diagram needs to be as sharp as an arrow because blurry diagrams will be hard to decipher after the exam paper is printed.
- The line of the label needs to touch the diagram.
- If letters A and B are used to denote a diagram in Question 1, then letters C, D and E should be used to denote another diagram in Question 2. These letters are to be used in succession.
- Whenever possible, the sentence stem should be located within the question so as to reduce cognitive load on the part of the student.
- Use multiracial names for different questions to represent Singapore’s multicultural context.
- Include the Sun to denote the source of energy for photosynthesis-related questions.
