I suppose since you are using a mint, you know that you are already in the wild west, but I'm pretty creeped out by any tool that invites entering a seed phrase into your browser...
I wonder what is the advantage of running this in the browser as opposed to requiring people to download the app. I imagine the circumstance where I need this is that I once was a user of minibits and wrote down my seed phrase, but maybe I lost my mobile device. So now I can come to this website and recover. Maybe it makes sense, but I thought we were trying to avoid normalizing putting your seed phrase into things...
REMINDER: all these troubles of restoring a ecash wallet comes from the fact that every time you receive a payment through ecash it creates a token.
Now comes the fun part: many of ecash users are getting most of their sats from small zaps on nostr or other places. That means they will have a lot of small tokens that are just sitting there in a cashu wallet, maybe sometimes they send some but still, storing hundreds of tokens.
These tokens MUST be consolidated more often, otherwise in time will be quite difficult to spend them. That's why many users have these issues with restoring ecash wallets, is because they do not consolidate more often the tokens. The best way is to redeem (melt) the tokens into a self-custodial LN wallet/channel and repeat the accumulation later.
