Summer is coming. So I am helping a friend to offer his 5 nice tourist apartments exclusively with BTC and also paying the maintenance and services only with the BTC earned from renting these apartments. We are testing a bitcoin circular economy. My task is to setup all the infrastructure and "cash (sats) flow" and also the basic training for its users.
Is a challenge he accepted. Until now he offered them only for fiat and now he's decided to go all BTC. No more fiat. It's a challenge he's ready to take for a year, to see how is going.
I can't give too many details, but I can say that the apartments will be listed on sites with BTC. Will be also listed on BTC map, but mainly we just want to see how is to "blend in" smoothly without making too big waves. The apts are located in 4 different places.
Owner is running his own LN node, and also offering sub-accounts to employees, sub-contractors for services, suppliers that accepted to use sats for this 1 year experiment. They will be paid exclusively in sats and they will have control over their sats, free to use them as they want. The owner only wants to save the remaining sats as reserve.
If this experiment will have success will be extended with more apartments and more services.
