You gotta love this, as she has claimed in her resignation announcement that the Ethics proceedings did not constitute a "fair process" and that she was "choosing to step aside" rather than "play these political games."
Mind you, the Ethics Committee is bipartisan and has an equal number of Republican and Democratic Members. Her own party was calling for her to resign after being indicted for stealing upwards of $5 million in COVID funds, and she just flat out lied and refused to accept that she violated the House Ethics disclosures, but sure it's "games" to her.
Is that it? No jail time?

Nooooo this is just the internal House ethics enforcement. The barrier is lower than in a criminal case. She is still facing trial with the DOJ.
The reason that she did this was that once she resigned, the House Ethics Committee won't act upon the findings anymore, like they were planning to. The House does not have the ability to fine her or sanction her, so she's just dodging, temporarily, any sort of punishment.

Not many get hit with Federal Charges though... she did and the few I can think of that have went to jail or pleaded out

What do mean? Well, just because it's bipartisan does not mean it is legit. They could be offering her as a sacrifice in exchange for something. Maybe there are bigger fish that are being let off? Probably many more possiblies.
Aww naw, just look into the case against her, it's really damming she tried to blame the government at one point for sending her money, even, and moved to photoshop her campaign pictures because the huge yellow diamond ring she bought herself came directly from the COVID funds. She 110% got busted with her hand in the cookie jar

Gaetz tried to dodge the findings report coming out and even though he resigned the Ethics Committee still decided to release the report.
It’s actually how all Reps get replaced during their terms. Resignation, expulsion, and death are the only ways out for their two year term
