A couple days ago I borrowed my parent's car for a couple hours while mine was at the mechanic for its seasonal tire switch (goodbye winter). My parent's car has a CD player and a Paul McCartney live album started playing automatically when I started up the car, so I left it on.
When this song came on I thought to myself "man I haven't heard this song in ages".
But now it has been stuck in my head for 2 days and I want it out. Not my favourite McCartney song but I do really like the melody in the pre chorus.
I am a big Beatles fan, but Paul McCartney really churned out some crappy, sappy tunes during his solo career. Unfortunately, he has a knack for memorable melodies, so some of these horrors can live in your brain for days.
He is a melody master. The melodies in this song are really varied and complex even though it’s a pop song so I appreciate it in that sense but it’s definitely not his best work overall.
