They do custody my sats- it is true- but they also manage the liquidity and LN channels that I lack the patience and geekery to diy.
Pragmatism vs purism.
The important principle for me is that sats are not issued via fiat or debt- all satizens are treated equally under the algorithm...unlike the fiat debt slavery cartel that owns your government.
So yes I am using sats to pay p2p wherever I can due to the facilitation that coinos provide.
I would not hold my life savings on coinos, or on LN for that matter.
Use L1 cold storage for that.
But even there I am using Electrum software and nodes.
More interested in using LN everyday than technocratic virtue signalling which leads to even highly knowledgeable tech geeks like @DarthCoin giving up on actually making payments with LN because 'it is too hard on my nodes', while 'CCs always work'.
IMO using the network to enable it to grow is the priority at this stage.
It is still a long way from being accessible to most people and needs to develop a lot before it will be. Treating it as an academic exercise rather than using it risks it never getting out of the lab!

Did have a few missed payments a couple of months ago which seemed to be an issue with coinos wallet receiving end of things which got sorted out without me doing anything.
The more we use LN the stronger it will get - still got a way to go.
Just noticed there was a gap between 24th and 27th no payments for over 3 days.
