I seem to remember that LIT ranking is strictly the amount of SATs paid?

If that's right then the cheapest way to get a higher post ranking is to post in the most expensive territory.*

*Or boost.

What really matter on SN is "NEW" not LIT.
LIT is just a manipulative tool for bots (no brains).

Item cost contributes to ranking, at first. LIT ranking is based on the last zap activity of an item[1], this enables old content to resurface when it receives new zaps.

We need to update the FAQs.

What can be interesting is looking at 'TOP - downzaps'

Kind of! Posting in an expensive territory is equivalent to boosting the same amount in an inexpensive territory.

LIT is ranked base on the net "investment" of a post/comment, ie zap sats + post cost + boost - downzap sats (+ investments in the comment thread too), where each sat invested has a four hour half life starting at the time it was invested.

boost sats = post sats = zap sats
