The future generation might just laugh how dumb humans were when they were driving and dying from car accidents. The car is a tool that was meant to serve man and not the other way round in the aspect of driving.
That's about 1 out of 8,000 people. Doesn't sound as bad as that MILLION, a number which as much as it might improve will never be good enough. Also... You can do you part by paying attention on and around the road. Helmets on those ebikes and scooters would also be awesome.
Yeah, the world map is a key to understanding what is going on. Road safety is relatively well understood, and most developed nations (except the U.S.) are following up on the issue quite well. In the U.S. it's also a cultural phenomenon, people simply demand unsafe roads at the ballot, the same way they demand unsafe gun laws or unsafe food laws
Do you think self driving cars would fix this?
That'd fix it. Problem is, there's no way everyone can have self-driving cars.
It's more likely to reduce the number of people that own cars at all
At least, it's a start.

Another confirmation that regulations are not working. In Germany there are no speed limits and I bet there's much less injuries on the roads.
Anyone reading this would think there are no speed limits anywhere. In Germany, some highways donβt have speed limits though.
