The world is probably better if there are sporting events that are male coded and events that are female coded. Gymnastics seems like a good example of this: incredible athletes from both genders, but the events are somewhat different.

I suspect some of the trouble is that there aren't as many female team sports that get national attention. Am I just ignorant of them?
