A coffee shop sells an interesting coffee called “Sweet Little Rain”. This coffee comes with cotton candy perched on top of a hot cup of coffee. The cotton candy then falls into the coffee like raindrops. Explain the process(es) involved. (2 marks)

It’s basically two things happening.
First, steam from the hot coffee rises and cools on the cotton candy, turning into tiny water droplets.
Second, cotton candy is just very thin sugar, so when those droplets touch it, the sugar dissolves quickly and collapses into the coffee — which makes it look like little raindrops falling in

There are two main processes involved: condensation and dissolution.
The hot coffee produces water vapor (steam). When this vapor rises and touches the cooler cotton candy, it condenses into tiny liquid droplets.
Cotton candy is made of very fine strands of sugar with a large surface area. When the condensed water contacts it, the sugar dissolves quickly, causing the structure to collapse and fall into the coffee like raindrops😊😊😊
