The day finally arrived. One of the hosts, Mexico, will play in the opening game against South Africa. It is the same match than in 2010 when the host was South Africa. The match ended in a 1-1 draw. Will this match end up in a draw again?
That year, Spain won the World Cup...
In the other match of the group South Korea will face Czech Republic.
Any of these teams can go through to the next phase.
Will you be watching?
That was a good match; it was quite an eventful one.
I picked all 0-0 ties (sorry, draws) with goalkeepers as players of the match in the last World Cup contest that got posted.
Bracket name Amazing KickBall π
I really wanted to switch my picks to that in the previous contest but I also wanted to use my 2-1 strategy.
I'll say about your 2-1 strategy, the O/U in β½ is usually 2,5
Going over all the time ain't the way
You should ise the 1-0
Way more disrespectful to KickBall but smarter betting practice
Just saying π
@Carresan did an analysis of this, actually. The issue with 1-0, and why my strategy beats it, is that many of the 1-0 results go to the underdog.
So, it is the more common result overall, but not so when you condition on the favorite winning.
So you should go only with dogs
Not for these types of contests that don't have any bonus to picking an underdog, expect for the unknown pot-odds.
hahaha! It's a possible result
Picks for the opener?
I have the SA upsetting the Host, and you?
I had a draw between Mexico and SA, then a 2-1 victory for Korea
I have Mexico winning group A in all the contests plus on Predyx so I guess I am rooting for Mexico.
I probably wonβt watch any of the World Cup today but I watch Canada tomorrow
Good one tomorrow! Bosnia eliminated Italy!!
SA upsetting Mexico to start well the Dogs unleashed
Opening matches are always difficult, we'll see what Mexico is able to do.
BTW let's do a halftime call with Stackers during the World Cup? We can use my room on CornyChat to do it
A victory for Mexico: the Aztecs got off to a good start in the tournament and made history by winning their opening match.
