I never keep cache. Is always gone when browser is closed.
It worked if you keep Sidecar open.
Try it also on Vivaldi browser. You can install it as unpacked but the extension button do not respond.
In Vivaldi browser I got this
It could be that Vivaldi doesn't allow it. idk.
In classic Chromium it responds OK.
Just to follow up on this, Sidecar has been tested and works with Vivaldi. I only tested the most recent version 1.3.0 which is currently pending review in the Chrome Web Store but no reason to suspect the prior versions would not also work with it.
but no reason to suspect the prior versions would not also work with it.
For a vibecoded app you should be veeeery suspected that will not work.
I appreciate the early feedback, please keep it coming.
Sidecar is an unlisted release, and has not been extensively tested on every browser yet.
If anyone has suggestions on what to improve, drop a note in the GitHub issues tab.
The link is in the app’s About page when you click the logo at the bottom.
I like to give sincere feedback (good or bad, doesn't matter).
Will give you star on GH but I do not want to abuse the "issues" tab, only when is something really bad to be fixed.
Are you planning also to launch it for Firefox?
Definitely should be tested with more browsers, that's why I already test it with some. Not all of them respond in the same way. And I think a nostr browser extension is an important thing, like a BTC wallet.
Absolutely agree. I made this first version and invited anyone from Nostr and a few groups I'm in to test it out. I've had a couple of requests for a Firefox version, but that would only be some time after the Chrome extension has gotten some more traction and I can be sure there's real demand and not just 3 people asking about it. I'm not a Firefox user, so I don't think I would be able to give it the level of attention that needs right now. (But since this is open source, I hope someone is inspired enough to build their own version in the meantime.)
I'm not a Firefox user
Me neither, but I use it as a backup, testing things.
Noted – and thanks for the ★!
Maybe try resetting your browser cache? I just did a fresh install of Helium and it worked for me on the first try.
