The Stones are way, way better than Springsteen anyway, but I'm glad Jagger spoke up. I don't give a damn about the politics of the musicians I go to see.

Mick Jagger Says It’s Not His Job to Lecture Rolling Stones’ Fans on Politics

I can name 10 reasons why he should continue to speak out:

  1. He has always stood up for working people.
  2. Trump is threatening basic democratic rules.
  3. Silence would go against everything Springsteen sings about.
  4. Loving America does not mean staying quiet.
  5. Trump uses workers while helping the powerful.
  6. Immigrants and minorities need public defenders.
  7. Springsteen reaches people politicians cannot.
  8. His courage may help others speak up.
  9. Artists should call out abuse of power.
  10. Speaking out is not lecturing, it is being a citizen.

  1. He has always stood up for working people.

... and not only them:

We got a thousand points a night // from a homeless man
We got a kinder, gentler, machine gun hand

outcasts and soldiers aren't exactly "working class", even if some of them might work quite hard in their own ways.

As Michael Jordan once said "Republicans buy sneakers too".

I think a bit of politics in music is fine especially if it is part of the art but yeah I don't want a 20 minute lecture about who to and who not to vote for.

I love that quote !

There is so much to dislike about Trump's politics but I personally don't like those "Trump haters" who just think they are morally superior.

politics in music

it's not exactly politics in music if you can play the same song at either camp's conventions; it's more politics around music.

I agree. Springsteen has apparently gone overboard recently. Long lectures.

Boomer TDS might be the only thing keeping me sympathetic to Trump

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and to share it.

Mick Jagger sold out a long time ago.
