I'm getting back to yoga today (again) with a yin class. It's been 6+ months since my last attempt to renew the habit. My plan is to do 3 yin classes this week, then begin doing 3 yin and 4 vinyasa classes each week.
I'm 20lbs heavier (with less muscle) than I was when I stopped doing yoga and eating well super consistently 2+ years ago.
I've never heard of Yin. How does it stand out from other practices?
It's more static and relaxing than other forms of exercise yoga. It's what people incorrectly imagine when they imagine yoga - just stretching, no strength required, no heart rate elevation.
That's cool. Are you going back to a place you like or trying somewhere new?
I'm going back to the place I did 2 years ago because it's close to the office. I like the place I was going to 6 months ago more, less bougie, more crunchy, but it's too far to consistently go to now.
Another day without junk food or snacking. We skipped the pool though because the kid's a little sick.
