just did a tested with lnemail, wow, really cool, but how can this beintegrated with SMTP?
Would need to make a plugin that implements their API.
plenty of plugins, this is one #1531673
Does it implement lnemail's REST API? Because that's not in your screenshot.
Oh ok, you are right, it's compolicated to use lnmail for this case.
@Natalia evaluate these options too:
- Mailbox.org has no free tier but starts from ~€1/mo (good German privacy law)
- Posteo.de has no free tier either, same €1/mo ( smae German privacy law + anonymous signup)
who had thought ~AGORA is also the best place to ask for tools recommendation:)
Would do! In fact, I'm also going to share my experience with nadanada.🫡
Image if also being able to link personal domains to lnemail...
I mean linking the domain that you own and purchased by sats, still anonymous:)
Yes! Just you cannot claim anonymous unless you also sell and custody the domain (like njalla does - which technically means you don't own it) and make sure it is anon yourself, because if you don't then you'll get retards that paid their domain with credit card (or paid their protonmail address that way) and are surprised when they get picked up by popo, and blame you (like Proton gets blamed a lot.) Also because of all the crazy protocols you need to maintain DNS-side to actually get inbox delivery - as a user you'd want to outsource that too.
I think there's a nice niche here for someone that likes sats and understands how DMARC works though!
LNmail is great, we are also exploring https://nostrmail.org and https://nostr-mail.com
Better signup for a cheap hosting provider that provide email server.
for example?
which one is your fav?
Hosting my own e-mail means I could stop using Proton or Tuta, and then I should use something like Thunderbird to access the account right?
Tuta does not work, if you want to use Proton in this WP setup, you'll need a Pro account and custom domain setup to work the way you want. Proton is really well setup, yes you can use Thunderbird client but you need the Proton Bridge.
Yes, Tuta doesn't support SMTP, only custom domain is available. Proton is fairly easy, but I am always happy to level up / be more independent.
I tried nostrmail the other day!
And I just did a test sending mail from nostrmail to lnemail, the mail arrived instantly. 😳
In this age of centralized email services, self-hosted email itself is not simple to configure yourself. Even Amazon SES (kind of became the gold standard for sending out automated email this past decade) is complicated to configure, gated and so on.
With Proton at least you get to have some GDPR-style protection of "forget me" and "gimme my data". It's not a poor choice.
If we wanna stay in the bitcoin-sphere, maybe we can check out how
lnemailintegrates though!
