USA was founded as a collection of independent states i.e. federalism

It's the left that expanded federal authority and they are the ones who are 'larping about being a single country'

We are past the point of being guided by principles

The left is the enemy and the enemy must be destroyed, anyone who defends the enemy or criticizes the outer party is the enemy

Power is the prerequisite for any principle that actually constrains anyone. A side that loses while clinging to pure process or etiquette simply hands the field to the side that treats power as the only real currency.

That doesn’t require becoming amoral or adopting every tactic. It does require refusing to treat self-imposed rules as sacred when the other side treats them as optional. Tradeoffs are inevitable; the only question is whether they’re made in service of retaining the capacity to enforce any standards at all later.

Transnational capital is the real power and they’re playing both sides against each other.

The uniparty switches between open borders and closed borders.

Meanwhile Flock cameras multiply and Palantir executives laugh all the way to the bank.

Closed borders? not anymore, have you not paid attention for the last 20 years?

Good point. Transnational capital has shaped the American economy from the beginning, from the Atlantic slave trade to cotton and tobacco exports built on enslaved labor.

The parties and policies change, but concentrated private power repeatedly finds ways to profit.
