To those who called me a “nigger”:

I understand the message. Being Black and a Democrat makes me an enemy in your political worldview. This thread has made that unmistakably clear.

This administration has repeatedly used its power to reverse Black progress, restricting voting access, erasing Black history and achievement from public institutions, dismantling diversity programs, and attacking institutions built to serve a multiracial democracy.

You are right about one thing: power matters.

This administration has shown that it will use federal power not merely to defeat political opponents, but to punish the Americans it associates with them, even when doing so harms its own voters.

I am Black. I am an American. I am not leaving, disappearing, or surrendering my rights so that your vision of America can remain comfortable.

That’s hard to take seriously after I’ve been called the N-word, told to “move to Liberia,” and had racial stereotypes thrown at me in this very thread.

If race keeps coming up, it isn’t because I introduced it.
