I can't say I think of myself having a "phone addiction," but I will admit it takes me 2-3 days to decompress when I go on vacation and fully separate from work. Phones definitely contribute to that cortisol stress level staying above normal.

Our internet went out yesterday evening and it was definitely an adjustment.

setting up my phones to sync notes with Joplin+Syncthing was an absolute win for moving the phone to a device that's was less time sucking/scrolling and more accomplishment unlocking.

I know obsidian offers similar functionality with their $5 plan, but that wasn't the right move for a pauper/stacker like myself

little by little, I’ve been using my computer more instead of my phone, and it’s rewarding. my phone starts to feel like a clunky computer with limited everyday real applications, as if they were crutches of the wrong size. the physical barrier of having to access a computer helps keep me closer to real life.
