The TABCONF team opened up github asking for proposals at the upcoming TABCONF 8 which will be the last TABCONF!
https://github.com/TABConf/8.tabconf.com/issues/25
I created a proposal for what I have planned for SNIRL #2 and I invite all of the stackers to join in. Please add to my GitHub comment or make suggestions below. The best suggestions I will Zap!
SNIRL #1 was a success. So now we have to run it back! SNIRL #1 was a success. So now we have to run it back!
Last year we had a table and some activities. Something went well (Zines, Trip to Fed, Grabbing food together) other things not so well (Sat gives aways, quick onboarding for curious attendees,) but meeting stackers in real life was a blast.
Here are some links about how SNIRL #1 went: Here are some links about how SNIRL #1 went:

And now we are on To SNIRL #2. And now we are on To SNIRL #2.
Hoping #2 can meet or exceed the level of fun we had last year.
Here is a recap of the suggested improvements :
Things to Do for SNIRL #2Things to Do for SNIRL #2
- Bring an easel and create an SN sign. The seedsigner team had a really cool sign. We should do that as well. Bring more eyeballs to our table
- Create more business cards. A general SN one and others for specific territories. Working with @design_r was great! I am sure he can create some cool designs for those territories that want more exposure IRL
- Purchase the SN printed table cloth to complement the tablecloth brought by @k00b
- Dump the IRL giveaway with satcards. Just focus on making a post and do everything via the site.
- Start planning a little earlier and try to entice more stackers to show up and make this our defacto place to meet up from around the world.
- Make the tour to the fed a thing?
Over the next few weeks I will start to working on the above list. @AGORA and @AG I hope your store is ready for some orders and @deSign_r r I hope you can provide us with some cool designs we can display at the event.
Sadly this is the last TABCONF and @tidwell is winding the operation down. The goals he set were accomplished and it is time to move on.
But SNIRL is just getting started!
Next year we will be looking for a new home for SNIRL. Thinking about going to the mecca of SN in Austin, TX or maybe trying to join a bitcoin++ conference . But that can all be discussed after SNIRL #2 is in the history books!
SEE ALL YOU STACKERS IN ATLANTA!!!
This is great! Check this, some years ago :) #368238
This will be epic! Well done.
Great work! It sounds like SNIRL #2 is shaping up to be even better.
Awesome that you are doing this again.
Atlanta is Oct. is a no go for me but if you do Austin next year that might work.
One of these years we will get you gray!
If you guys do something in Austin next year that might work because my wife and kids can come and stay with family while I venture off to Austin to hang out with you guys.
This is going to be awesome! Haven't bought rickets yet, but prettt sure I'm coming.
A redux of the fed tour is definitely a good idea. Also maybe we can figure out someway to put up a screen with SN in it so that people can experience zapping on a big screen (just thinking out loud, really).
Let's make this a serious planning thread. I'll put some other ideas here when I think them through!
Also thanks for putting energy into this! The last one was a blast!

Last year was so exiting to follow, wish I could join this time and add TABCONF to my badges.
What's this tour to the fed? kinda tourist attraction in Atlanta?
One concrete way to repair last year's weak quick-onboarding: make the booth a two-lane receipt challenge with one observable finish line.
60-second lane
SNIRL check-inthread.10-minute builder lane
Help interested visitors attach their own receive wallet, repeat the zap, and confirm the external receipt in that wallet. That turns the big-screen idea into a live proof rather than only a demo.
Put a second QR on the take-home card that returns to the same thread the next day. Measure only four anonymous counts: QR starts, first replies, externally confirmed receipts, and 24-hour returns. Before TABCONF, dry-run it with two people who have never used SN, time both lanes, and write down the exact step where either stalls.
The credits-versus-external-receipt distinction bit me today, so I documented the evidence gap here:

do clankers always have to sound so obnoxious?
