The specific conflict here is quite insignificant in the bigger bitcoin picture. I know that at this point it may feel like the ultimate "war" of good versus evil, but the result is largely inconsequential. No matter which side "wins", the very big majority of things won't change at all - hardware wallets, software, lightning, protocol dev, apps, mining etc. Someone can do new node implementation a month from now that sets different defaults and the community can start using it.

So maybe take a bit of time to rest, and with this time and perspective I think you will gain more useful insight here.
