too often avoid a robust contest of ideas, by blocking or troll others calling them name and making false accusations against them
Do they have mirrors where you're from?
Please point to a single false accusation I have made in this dialogue.
Or any dialogue if you must search that widely.
Silence.
I have pointed to one specific false assertion you made against me- you have not convincingly responded to or refuted that.
on the whole I still think most people here do engage
Since that contradicts your initial statement that I called out, it's a good candidate for a false claim.
Silence
And, since I responded, that is also a false accusation.
Silence is a prediction-challenge that you will have no credible answer.
And it was correct.
You are still confabulating and not responding credibly to the facts and issues raised.
My initial statement was-
'BTW most people here do engage with respondents'
Nothing I have said contradicts that.
'on the whole I still think most people here do engage' certainly does not.
If the quantity of sats/cc and replies someone generates is a true measure of engagement...
I consider for myself making people think, or even people blocking me out of fear and inability to engage in a reasoned thoughtful dialogue is better than arsemilking echo chamber virtue signalling 'engagement'. But that is just my own preference- not obviously the more common approach you find here on Stacker news. I am by my own acknowledgement somewhat an outlier.
So on the whole I still think most people here do engage to the extent they are capable with posts and comments- probably more than on other social media sites.
And so you were wrong to assert my initial statement as false because it is not false.
If anything imo, people here are too smarmy and polite and too often avoid a robust contest of ideas, by blocking or troll others calling them name and making false accusations against them.
