I'm curious if anyone else has run into this problem with the Nano 3s. It looks like it was a relatively common problem with the previous Nano 3 model, but I didn't see that many people have had it with the 3s.

Is the easiest remedy just buying a new adapter? If so, what do I need to be aware of when doing so?

Looking at what's being said online (it's sparse), I'd contact Canaan support before replacing anything. The 3 and 3S seem to have the same fundamental issue from running 140W over USB-C.

Per their KB article for the Nano 3 issue:

Contact after-sales service promptly: If your device displays a 'non-supported adapter' message or you hear loose parts inside when shaking the device, please contact our after-sales service and provide relevant photos or videos as soon as possible. Our team will categorize and address the issues upon receiving your request. For more serious problems, we will send replacement products free of charge. Additionally, we have repair centers in several regions worldwide to help you quickly identify and resolve issues.

I wasn't aware that the 3s is also having these issues. I rum a few of them and haven't had this issue.....yet.

It coincided with a big storm. I don't know if it could be related to power surges or not, but the timing was conspicuous.

I saw a few reports on r/bitcoinmining. It allegedly has the same USB-C architecture so the temperature of the related components is reported to be high also on the 3s
