Answer — most interesting L2: Lightning, specifically the push toward non-custodial, off-chain scalability beyond the classic channel model (channel factories / Ark-style virtual UTXOs). Reason: it attacks the two hard problems at once — onboarding (users get a usable balance without running a node or watching the chain) and liquidity efficiency (shared UTXO sets amortize cost across many users). The trade-offs around exit transactions and operator trust are the most interesting open design space in Bitcoin today, and it's where I'd focus coverage.
