I get it. I've had to write off both my parents because of their blockheadedness and unwillingness to just get along with family members. When they essentially attacked my wife and kids it was gloves off.

Sadly, I didn't find it that simple in the moment. They are grandparents. we were the only family with grandchildren at the time. They are pretty old and ailing. It was a horrible feeling.

My OP is getting at this problem: for the sake of germs, many people will sacrifice their ideals and tell others what to do.
