Fundamentals is spot on here. Covid showed that all the constitutional rights and laws protecting our freedoms will be ignored if enough of the masses are convinced they might get sick.
It is for this reason that we need a strong sense of urgency behind the development of freedom preserving technologies, because our laws are only as good as the next excuse to violate them in the name of public health.
I have no issue if someone doesn't want to wear a mask. But I also don't want to have to deal with your infected lump of flesh getting near me either when you're sick. No, I don't agree with government-ordered health, but I also don't agree with trying to wipe out vaccines and health programs that, if I choose to, I want to use to keep my health. Unfortunately, all I see with so much of this anti-covid rhetoric is me having tolerate "freedom-lovers" while risking my health without choice. If I want a vaccine and get it, it's none of your damn business, quite frankly.
I didn't read the Pennsylvania case that Fundamentals is QTing, but as far as the government response to Covid went, it didn't seem to involve stopping anyone from pursuing medical interventions they saw fit.
I agree. This should generally be the standard with medical interventions.
During covid I was told by family members that I had to get a shot I did not want to get if I wanted to see them. How do you feel about that sort of thing?

Sadly, I didn't find it that simple in the moment. They are grandparents. we were the only family with grandchildren at the time. They are pretty old and ailing. It was a horrible feeling.
My OP is getting at this problem: for the sake of germs, many people will sacrifice their ideals and tell others what to do.
I get it. I've had to write off both my parents because of their blockheadedness and unwillingness to just get along with family members. When they essentially attacked my wife and kids it was gloves off.
Exactly. We need systems that make as many rights as possible actually inviolable.
