Extracted from the 95 - Are Spark and Ark Real Bitcoin L2s? Justin Explains video
This is mostly accurate.
Spark and Ark are unfairly conflated though.
Spark is a scam. Ark is well designed and when implemented properly, improves UX albit with trade-offs. New bitcoiners can recieve any amount of bitcoin in any number of transactions at zero cost, immediately, without the cost/friction of requiring a lightning channel. The main tradeoff is that VTXO's need to be refreshed periodically; however users could delegate this from their mobile/desktop wallet to any number of devices in their house etc. In the worse case, the Ark operator takes custody of your funds... so no worse than most other lightning wallets being used today.
Ark therefore has significant upside, but the downside is prettymuch the status quo.
Noah Wallet (Ark) is awesome - i use it most days to buy lunch... I scan a lightning invoice and one of my VTOX's is spent... trasaction time is 200ms-500ms. Early days, but I'm very confident that Ark will overtake Lightning in transaction volume and value.
@WeAreAllSatoshi what happens when @anon uses @remindme?
presumably the same as usual? I think anon has notifications page, just can’t push notifications to devices
You can’t see notifications when you aren’t logged in, though?
oh, you can’t? I haven’t looked in ages
Edit: I wonder if that’s an oversight. I’m pretty sure mentions and other notifications used to work for anon
I just checked. Notifications just took me to a sign-in page
Just realized the title, lol
Meanwhile I'm the last defender of justice transactions, while the actual scammers push covenants
I'm literally the anti mobile node guy you moron
