my default would be to post a comment on a link only post with my thoughts about the topic, but I'm worried there are many stackers who have muted some of the link-only posters, or who just generally skip their posts, and so posting thoughts in a comment would be pointless.

I'm generally not a fan of posts with links only, so low effort, at least you can say something about why you find it interesting or important? And I won't even click on it if it's from Stackers that I have 0 memory, and worst if someone already posted it. 😂
