I often feel estranged from the current Bitcoiners,
I feel yah. Feel much more pulled by the world outside: nature + village life + writing for e.g., The Daily Economy
This is on its own a really good means - literally touching grass - to cope with what's going on around us in Bitcoinland.
For the first time in many years I spent my winter in Europe and this was probably not helping at all. I like the outdoors. I like setting myself up for an hour break at 5 or 6pm and go for a walk or a swim depending on where I am. But I hate the cold, so staying in Europe wasn't a great choice.
Maybe if I touch more grass, it matters less when I shake my head
try feeling differently about the cold... and come to my Icelandic beauty! I used to hate the cold and now I've become one with it.

what do you mean "no good food"? We have the bestest meat... come to my house and tell me the food is bad! I will slow-cook you local lamb I chased down the mountains myself #1563572

I know everything that we have tried, even those that didn't work out, isn't necessarily a waste, but still, it's making me more cautious about where I put my limited time and energy. 😅
I'm still never bored and I'm still helping people out, time spent is never a waste for me, as I learn new things and get new ideas as I go.
Except doing admin - this is horrible; even though I just have a little tracking app now and I just need to summarize and bill sometimes. Still.. what a waste, haha.

I don't know anymore! Bit of a crisis. I recently left my FOSS projects because I was no longer capable of doing what was needed most and was hindering others (mostly due to naturally accrued seniority after a decade+ and being one stubborn mf)
I often feel estranged from the current Bitcoiners, so I don't want to work on the protocol layer or even on direct protocol implementations, something I used to do in the past for hobby. I never felt much for the wallet businesses because security services (as the nature of a proper non-custodial wallet is) and profitable businesses are a very hard combination to get right, I learned that by doing it.
The projects of the past couple of years that I used to love are dead in the water, and all that is left of these is having scammers to fight. Which isn't my hobby either and it doesn't pay well.
I'll find something though, this is just a temporary setback.
