Absolutely not. Medical care is a service that someone else provides. I have no right to demand it from someone directly, and for the same reason I have no right to demand that someone else pay for it.
This is a difference in mindset that explains exactly why capitalist countries are richer than communist countries. You have an image in your mind of some fat cat sitting on a billion dollars doing nothing, as though you can just swipe a few chunks of cash from him to help the poor and it's no big deal. But you're meddling with a fragile system that relies on respect for property rights in order to keep the lights on.

I benefit from it, as do most New Zealanders.
The overall cost of healthcare in New Zealand is far lower than in the US.
