This reminds me of the teaser for Detach. I watched the full short a few months ago at a techies event in my city. It's a French short by Danielle Kaganov. In the film, the surgical robot operates remotely/nvisible hands at a distance, just like this surgeon in Nigeria, operating from 500 km away, the difference is that in the short, the robot realizes who's controlling it. I'm impressed by how uncommon this still seems to be. From some cursory searches, it's incredibly uncommon in the US too. Other than violating norms I wonder what the technical challenges are.
