Once upon a time, Einstein proposed setting up a one world gvt as a prevention mechanism for nuclear war. In his mind, the threat of totalitarianism was far less than that of nuclear war. I'm yet to dig in and investigate the real motives behind this, but one thing is clear, every new technology always has risks and 9/10 of the times, the risks are overblown by a group of fearful experts. Just imagine what the world would have been like today had his proposal been implemented? In a sense that's the world we live in today because nuclear technology devt has been on ice and tightly controlled for the last 60 years
