So I work for a decent sized nonprofit in Canada and I'm a bit disappointed to find we don't have anything setup to accept Bitcoin, at least openly.
I want to approach our fundraising and finance department about changing this but I'm thinking it's worth getting feedback from the community about the best ways to go about doing this.
Option one, collecting privately. more or less saying "hay everyone all sats on this post are going to good cause X" and personal converting to fiat to make the donation. +Super easy and relatively private on the donor side. -not easy to make larger donations and placing a lot of trust in the person collecting.
Option two, self custody for the organization. Would have many obvious benefits for both side but I think this is very unlikely that I could orange pill the CFO/CTO of my org, especially since she comes from the banking sector... But one could dream +Hodle :D -"crypto scary"
Option three, bitpay or something similar. I've used it a few times for purchasing on Newegg and paying my membership to the EFF. This i think might be a viable option for my org, as it kinda bridges fiat and BTC nicely from an outside perspective. My main concern is how the you guys and gals feel using it. +Easy to use -no anonymous way to donate.
Bitpay have the full KYC body search - not a pleasant experience.
